This evening I noticed that the fin didn't exactly fit the bottom of the hull. I could see light through parts of it. So with nothing else to do except wait for the weather to improve so I can start painting, I decided to take a risk and see if I could fill in that bit so that the fin exactly fits the bottom.
Put some strapping tape on the bottom and carefully cut out the holes where the threaded rod goes through. Then mixed up some very thick epoxy and but a bit on the top of the fin. Then I carefully slide the hull down onto the fin and squished out most of the epoxy. Cleaned it up really well.
Now we'll see if I can get it off tomorrow morning! Fingers crossed!!
