It was a big day today... the deck panels were completed by having the hatch openings cut out and then it was installed! Now for the wait and then tomorrow morning I'll find out how warped and wiggly it is. Fingers crossed.
I started the installation by clear coating the undersides of the panel with epoxy to seal the wood. It was a thin coat but not so thin as it is when you wipe or scrape it off. Plenty was left to seal the wood and to adhere to the hull.
Then I immediately brushed epoxy onto the hull and the tops of the frames... anywhere where the deck would touch.
Then I placed the panels and adjusted as needed, followed by a decent amount of strapping tape.
I had to put a lot of weights on it to keep the deck down completely. Tomorrow I'll cut the tape on the edges before removing the weights. I notice that the tape is on so powerfully that it's actually lifting the insides of the panels. The bricks are to hold the panels down onto the frames.
Earlier I also completed the mainsheet block support by epoxying on the top piece and clear coating the whole thing.
Pictures tomorrow of the deck after I clean it up a bit. Time to start biting my nails!
Peace! _/)
