Battery and wiring shelf installed

Last night I glued in two sticks of cedar amidships to hold a shelf for the battery and the bundle of wires. Clear coated them with epoxy and then glued them in place.

Today I clear coated two of the knock-outs that came with the frame kit. They are nice, thin plywood and the shape work well because they keep the center of the hull open so I can see the keel and so the rudder control linkage clears everything. Then I just set them on the cedar sticks. Should work fine.

They sorta look like bench seats.

Then I used the remaining epoxy to give another clear coat to the topside of the keel bulb. This might be the last clear coat for the top of the bulb. I'll need to add some more to the bottom, but otherwise the next step on the fin and the bulb will be to use the Interlux 404/414 Epoxy Primekote on it. Then will sand down that to a fine plasticy finish and then paint it white. More on that later as I get to it.

I know that it still looks a bit rough, but you're seeing through the clear coating to both the bare lead bulb and the thickened epoxy filler. The actual surface is pretty smooth now.

Peace!  _/)

Moving to a new RC Sailboat blog! Check it out...

Since I've now sold the T37 , and have completed these two Star 45's (well... one Star 45 and one Salish 475), I thought it would be a good time to end these two blogs and focus on one generic RC Sailboat blog where I could post any new RC sailboat projects. Please check out my new blog at http://www.rcmodelyachts.com/ . Or you can use my older address of http://rcsailboats.blogspot.com/ . If interested in the Star 45 Construction Manual , you have TWO options: 1. An electronic PDF version for $20.      FIRST: Email me for details and payment. You will send a PayPal payment to my account and then I will email you the PDF. 2. For a full-color, printed copy (they're coil bound so they will stay open to any page!), GO TO Lulu Press . They are $35 and only take a week or so to get to you. Do NOT email me for a printed copy... order through LULU PRESS. So with that, I'm officially signing off! Peace!

PRINTED version of the Star 45 Construction Manual available!

I was able to put the Star 45 Construction Manual on Lulu.com to have them make on-demand printed copies! Unfortunately, because the manual is 95 page and in full color with a coil binding (that stays open at your work table), I have to charge $35. Yikes... If you're interested in a printed copy, click here and go to Lulu.com . If you'd prefer a PDF copy then send a Paypal payment to stevedeligan@gmail.com and then email. I will reply with the PDF copy. The links all work in the PDF copy! Thanks for your orders so far! Peace!

Salish 475 pictures

More pictures of the new Salish 475 RC (radio control) Sailboat... Hope you like it! Also see the posting on RC Groups under Sailboats . See what else I'm working on at my other blog: http://www.rcmodelyachts.com.  Until I develop a logo/icon/symbol thing for the Salish 475 I'll just use the numbers on the sail. You can see them in the picture below using the font Slugfest. The logo/icon thing will need to be in the Northwest Native American art style and reflective of the Coast Salish people (or maybe some of the people's a bit to the north... Haida, etc... they also have amazingly beautiful art!) Aloha!  _/) Fine art radio control sailboat. Wooden radio controlled sailboat. classic wooden radio control sailboat. Star 45 RC Sailboat.
